I think that some may find this offensive. but from a technical point of view I don't really see why this black and white and it looks like it was just desaturated. the whole thing is just one big muddy gray. there really isn't white whites or dark darks.

and again, this can be seen as offensive so don't be suprised if it gets voted down.

very nice image of "death". the lighting is nice as it skims across the dead fish.

really nice framing I don't know how this will do in votes though. I think using an unsharp mask would make the image pop better.

very nice thought here. I feel the ratio may be a little high though. I know it's part of the overall mood you were going for but I think it's a little overdone.

I'm not sure I get this image. I like the idea though.

there are some minor tech. issues here. the ratio between your highlight and your shadow is high, so I'm afraid your losing detail in your blacks and your whites (especially on his head). the focus feels soft also. The necklace needs turned and if you tried to go for a sepia tone it's a little off and if this is not sepia toned then your color is off.

aside from that, the image is still puzzling to me. I'm not sure what he is doing.

I really do like this image. I think there is a lot going for it. I like the composition is in line with the rule of thirds. I like how the colors complament each other, I like that your shooting at a proper dof so as the background falls blurry. the only issue I have I guess is I don't know if some will feel it fits the challenge. I understand that the leaf is in the process of dieing but I don't know if everyone will.

all in all great image, I think with some minor lumonisty sharpening this would go farther though.
