MMM - My first 10! This is amazing! All those shapes! Little crystals up front, slabs of ice contasting with the rounder rocks with the little round cloud shapes on the distance. Perfect colors, blacks for the ice. white for the sky . nevermind, I'm not saying anything you don't know - I love it.

Wonderful lines and textures, feathers this way and that, Is that really his eye? Why does he have tiny feathers on his eye? Oh wait I bet that's his ear. Does it matter? I will suspend disbelief, assume it is an eye because I like the way he's hiding behind his wing and peeking right at me. The spot of light on the yellow is very nice,

I've been there in the day time. Why does it look more powerful at night in your photo? Maybe because the black and white isolates the crushing power of the water and makes the humans on the edge look very fragile? You made the falls beautiful but pretty scarey too.

Oooh, an image with sound, I can hear it. A dark image like this will always suffer, scorewise, from poor-voter-monitor-calibration-syndrome. You took a risk. I wish the lovely silouette didn't compete with so many other lines like the horizon and the docks, so I will imagine they aren't there and score the image-that-cold-have-been, a perfect sillouette on the water and the sky at sunset with the gentle sound of recorder music. 8 without the dock

Nice - great eyes!! She must love this portrait. I think perhaps you dont need all the hat, if you crop some off the top it puts her eyes in a more interesting place, not dead center. If you look at model shots, a surprising number have half the hair on top cropped out of the picture. I love all the textures here, her smooth white face, the knitted hat and the fine detail of her hair.

Happy? Well then, this is certainly a social statement. He's wearing a coat made out of some kind of sack. The way the light on his face is repeated in the house in the background is a wonderful link between the two. All the buildings lean in towards that welcoming light. Even the clouds (and their matching cobblestones) are pointing the way. That must be where he lives, maybe he's happy to be going home for supper? One could construct all sorts of stories about this guy from the visual clues you give us. Does he grow coffee? is that a coffee tree branch in the left corner? There is a logo on his hat, is that a clue? Maybe that isn't a bean sack but a fishing net he wears. Wonderful face! He's just asking me to come home with him and listen to his story.

Oh that belt is just perfect! It divides the picture in half, separating naked from clothed, public from private, the individual from the culture. See how the checkerboard of the belt mimics the checkerboard of life. The half that belongs to hher alone and the half that belongs to her world. I like!

Ah - I bet this image suffered from getting squashed into a 640 pix format. I can imagine it huge on the wall of a bank. The dark and light play here is wonderful, especially where the small bright dots of leaves meet the more linear stripes of shadow on the ground. The darker sweeping lines of the branches look lovely in the impressionistic scatter of light. There is one spot in the distance where my eyes tell me to enter and feel the shade, a space on the right where the heat of the day contrasts.

How nice of him to have a dark underwing, it makes his face stand out perfectly. I also like the way his wing feathers swoop so gracefully at the tips. Nice capture.

I can't decide whether this is the big bang exploding outwards or I am being sucked in towards that dock super fast. Either way the powerful leading lines create a strong sense of motion. I can FEEL the storm front moving to the right as the waves move to the left.
