Lossby SteveSeeComment: This is nice. I like the conflict of the title and the man against the word hope. Nice composition, a bit off-center, tight crop. The legs and arms form a triangle of leading lines that guide me towards the man's face. 10. |

" ... untitled ..." by Moose101Comment: Ouch. I like how the spikes sting your hands and arms (artistically, I'm not sadistic ;)
The white background is very interesting, as most photogs (including me) went for dark, moody shots. Very neat and sharp, good lighting. I'm not sure about the upper part of the picture, above the hands. I think it could have been cropped. 10. |

"The Pain Never Stops"by sfarrell23Comment: This suggests emotional pain without having a person in the frame, which is something difficult to achieve. Good jib. The picture's abit too bright, the contrast is okay. The accessories suggest a child's death, showing all of the date on the plate would have added to this (it's just cropped off). 7. |

Oh, that yearly painby AJFIComment: A nice interpretation of the challenge. Again, I think that a hand written note would have been better. I don't think your wife/fiancee would have printed this out for you on a PC. The composition is okay, my eye is drawn around the image and finally focuses on the note. 7. |

A Lesson Learnedby Rook3000Comment: You should have put more emphasis on the scar. It is clear that the facial injury must have been very painful, but the viewer has to search for it. Maybe if your model was touching the scar with the hand it would be easier to see what you're referring to. 5. |

Another One Bites The Dustby JacksonComment: This doesn't look very painful. He's not injured (at least that's what it looks like), and nothing in his pose suggests physical pain (I'm sure you're not referring to emotional pain, are you?). As with many other entries, I think showing the face of your subject would have helped your picture. 4. |

Nailedby timluComment: Nice lighing, bright colours. Neat and sharp. It suggests pain even though the apple feels none. That's fine. A higher angle would have suited me better. 7. |

Outch ! , sad the milkby leifurComment: I don't think milk can feel any pain, nor suggest the emotion pain. You did a nice attempt at stopping motion, but your flash creates some harsh shadows and glares on the polished surface. Also, there's a large empty area in the lower right corner. 3. |

The Pain of Defeatby bjallenComment: I like the fact that everyone's watching her. The picture would have been better if her face was visible. 4. |

Quality Timeby jmritzComment: The dog looks as if he was in pain, okay. But the man? He's rather showing the dog it's not that bad, isn't he? Well, I like that idea, even if it's only in my mind. The man shouldn't have worn that cap though. It's a pity his face is hidden. 6. |
