Right Between the Eyesby muckpondComment: Good literalism! One of my favorites. I like the unusual aspect ratio but wish there was a little less black on the left hand side. |

trees: harmless?by MiahComment: The contrast is too strong IMHO, spoils what could have been a good shot. Also I'm not quite sure about your title? Trees are mostly harmless, but then again how often does prpaganda tell the truth? |

Fallingby RHoldenSrComment: Hey Robin,
Unfortunalty I didn’t vote on the Dreams and Nightmares challenge, however I do really like this shot.
The idea of a falling dream/nightmare works well as I guess it relates to a lot of people, I know it does me. That along with the zoom effect, an effect I have seen used a few times on DPC before and it really hasn’t worked for me. In the past I don’t think the feeling of motion generally suits the pictures I have seen. However in this case the effect creates the main impact of the image. A kind of interaction between the photograph and the viewer, almost like a magic eye.
As far as the actual scene its self is concerned it feels as if it is cropped a little too much, I think I would have preferred a wider angle to show more of the scene. Although I guess that would have made it harder to get the required angle to give the impression of falling, without taking the photograph from a higher position. Although I guess the best tribute to this photo is the number of people who actually experienced the falling sensation :-)
I don’t know if it was done for a reason but personally, I would like to have the horizontal and vertical borders the same width. But overall very well done.
Tom.
