This cracked me up beyond belief. I wasn't sure exactly what "pencil-vania" looked like, so I looked it up and you are right on!! Couldn't have followed the states outline better. Never having been to Penn. I can only assume that the branches and leaves around the pencil state are something relating to Penn. Great imagination! definately creative and guess what? I see pencils!! Good luck in the challenge.

This is pretty neat. I love how the pencils bend and how you positioned them in a way that the colors are spread out. I lie the reds. There is a blue glare/reflection in the glass to the left, just over half way up. Don't know if that had something to do with the glass, the background or the lighting. You might have not been able to avoid it, but if it were possible to avoid, it might have been a little better without it. Overall very nice photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

My sincere apologies about saying it wasn't a ford car. I had asked my hubby and that's what he told me. See if I listen to him again. Anyway, it is a great photo either way.

I thought that the title of this photo was probably kind of car that was in the photo. However, I looked it up and couldn't find anything called a Tauri. So, I thought that maybe you were trying to portray the plural of Taurus, but these aren't even Ford made cars. However, what ever it is (looks like a chrystler concord or lhs or 300m, something of that nature) they are definately new. I like the angle and the repetitive-ness (if that's even a word). Lighting is good, not too dark, not too bright. Great depiction of something new. Good luck with the challenge.

New House on the block

This is beautiful. The owner of this new house is very lucky to be able to view that sunset every night. At first, I thought that the virtical post to the left was not even with the edge of the photo. As I kept looking at it, I wasn't sure, so I measured it and it is almost as perfect as perfect gets. However, I was trying to figure out why it originally looked tilted a bit, and I realized that it is because the horizon is not straight, and being a lighter color at the top, and a darker color at the bottom, it makes that particular post only appear to be crooked. This isn't a photographer error, or camera error, or any error for that matter. Just a trick on the eyes, more like an optical allusion. So I chose to ignore it. lol. This depicts new, it is visually appealing, and I think it even goes by that "rule of thirds" that is currently being discussed in the forums. Great shot! Good luck in the challenge.

peek a boo! I see you!. I love the angle. Good time of day for the photo, not too bright, not too dark. Looks like you went a tad over board on color adjustments. Definately depics something new. Good job and good luck in the challenge.

I think this little guy is so cute. I think the metal object behind him is a little screw thing, which would help to understand his tiny size. The title is gameboy, but the object he's holding is a bit dark to really get any detail of what it is exactly. He looks like he's made of wax and is sitting on something that looks to have dirt on it. I like the lighting and orange tint. Makes him look like he's chilling out by a campfire or something. He's got one eye closed, but I'm not sure why cause I still can't get the detail on what he's holding. i tried enlarging it and brightening it, still no luck. Just because I don't understand it, doesn't mean that the message isn't clear to someone who knows what they are looking at. The actual focus of the photo is great. Good luck with the challenge.

I seriously hope people don't complain about the lightening on this. I can just see 15 "it's too dark" comments. But I think it was done perfectly! Absolutely beautiful. Congrats and Good luck.

This photo hits hard with me cause I have a little boy too who will be going to pre school in the near future. This could have been entered into the fear challenge too! I love how you captured the word school in the photo like that. Wouldn't make as much sense if you had left that out. Really nice photo. I only slightly understood the title the first time I glanced through and voted now I see the little lunch bag. That's too cute. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

I like this, and I like how you have the newest coin lit, second partially lit and oldest somewhat dark. What could have made this better is if the coins were all laying in the same direction. They seem to be staggered. Also, the photo doesn't appear to be a direct shot from the top, it looks like it was taken at a slight side angle, this making the coins not look completely round, but somewhat "squished" looking. If you aren't quite sure what i'm talking about...a pringles can lid (those are potato chips just in case you don't have them where you're from) is the exact same size as the oldest coin in your photo. This is, if the photo is in the large form as seen on this commenting page. If you place the pringles lid over the oldest coin directly onto the computer screen, you can see that the coin does not appear to be perfectly round, implying that the photo was taken at a slight angle. Now, I KNOW this is VERY picky, but maybe something to think about when taking pictures from the top. Setting my pickyness aside, I rated this photo high, and wish you the best of luck in the challenge.
