old school skateboardingby soerenComment: Hello from the Critique Club
First Reaction was oh no you fell.. So I am a Mom. I think that way..
Technically
A good shot, could have had a shallower DOF and blurred the bg which does not add or take away anything of the picture.
Composition is good, I like the way it makes me feel like I am on the ground too. Good contact with the eyes. I like this in black and white, My only complaint is I would have liked to have seen just a little more of the skateboard.
Thanks for allowing me to critique your photo.
Keep shooting and have fun.

Learning to swimby kiskatComment: Hello from the Critique Club
First Reaction nice colors.
Technically
Good lighting, nice skin tones, great colors, not sure where your focus was, nothing seems sharp, except for her arm.
Composition is ok, I know that the hand on the nose is part of learning how to swim but I would like to see a little more of her face.
The splash at the bottom is nice.
Thanks for allowing me to critique your photo.
Keep shooting and have fun.

For the King!by toskComment: Hello from the Critique Club
First Reaction WOW great colors!
Technically
Well done, good DOF, Nice bokeh bg, sharp and great colors
Composition is great, He is not centered but the picture feels centered.
My only tiny complaint is the top of the flag and that is really nothing..
Congrats on your top 10 photo.
Thanks for allowing me to critique your photo.
Keep shooting and have fun.

Pee-wee Basketballby LanndonKaneComment: Hello from the Critique Club
First Reaction was cute shot.
Technically
Well honestly, it is overexposed, sounds like you are having problems with the camera. Too much sun on her arms and face losing the skin color
I do like the texture of the ball.
Composition is good, like the way the ball fills the screen. Her expression is cute and she is having fun.
It maybe time to invest in a new camera if you can. You have a good eye for the shot but your camera, if it is not working the way you want is holding you back, that can become frustrating.
Thanks for allowing me to critique your photo.
Keep shooting and have fun.

High Speed Actionby SomeamateurComment: Hello from the Critique Club
First Reaction was nice action shot.
I like that he is in air and nice motion blur.
Technically
Considering you were in a gym shooting with a 4.5 lens and at ISO 1600 I am surprised this is not grainy. The lighting in a gym is usually bad and flash really helps.
Composition is ok, It's hard when you are shooting a sports shot to check out the background and the 2 people take away from the shot.
Since this was basic editing not much you could do.
Keep shooting and having fun!

A Journeyby sudhiComment: Hi from the Critique Club
First Impression was just like one of the comments, simple but well done.
Technically
Well done, lighting is good as is the focus.
Composition.. I like the light bouncing off the steps, my only complaint is the head is cut off in the first picture.
Meets Challenge
Yes
Final Thoughts.
Sometimes the simple things are the best. Nice job
Best of Luck in future challenges.

Win, Place and Showby jgriecoComment: Hi from the Critique Club
First Impression was where is the Triptych? The I saw what was done.
Technically
Well done, all shots are in focus and lighting is good. Great colors too. I don't recall anyone saying you had to have borders around the 3 pictures, you did a nice job putting them together.
Composition.. The background is not appealing, it takes away from the picture. Could have been fixed up with the advanced editing rule
Meets Challenge
Yes
Final Thoughts.
I like the picture, it seems well thought out and excuted. Should have scored higher. Wow, it always amazes me that the point and shoots can produce such great pictures.
Best of Luck in future challenges.

Firelight Fantasiaby purpleflutterby13Comment: Hi from the Critique Club
First Impression was WOW I wouldn't want flames that close to my hair..
Technically
I like the lighting, and the one you shot of the violinist inside was the best of the three.
Composition..
I like the set up of the pictures, it brought to mind Nero playing while Rome burned.
Meets Challenge
Yes
Final Thoughts.
A great change from the flower shots.. (I entered a bad flower shot)
I agree with the person who said the violin shot could stand alone.
Nice entry. Really should have scored higher.
Best of Luck in future challenges.

Grieving geldingby snafflesComment: Hi from the Critique Club
First Impression was what is that big blue line for?
Technically
It is hard to tell how good the picture is because of the blue lines.
Of what I can see it looks in focus, Lighting is off just a tad, and the hay seems to be on the green side.
Composition.. Looks okay
Meets Challenge
Yes, in the fact that there are 3 sections. I really did not see a story in the shot.
Final Thoughts.
I think all the comments tell the story here.
Best of Luck in future challenges.
