this is a really interesting picture but the first thing that i had to do was to tilt my head to the right. i think that the 'slantedness' of the image is very distracting from the overell image quality. other than that i think this is an outstanding and beautiful shot and will be rewarded for it!

i like the idea and concept of this picture but i would have followed the rudle of thirds when it comes to the horizon and i think that the light sources are way too overexposed.

gotta love the light pollution for the nice orange glow

i think that this photo fits the challenge perfectly. the child is the subject of the photo, takes up a small portion of the image space, and unlike many others that i have seen, he is the STRONG point of the image. i may have played around with the colors a little bit more because everything seems a bit blue and underexposed. 8

VERY nice concept and good overall picture. but i will offer my comments and ideas:
i think that the lower left of the picture is somewhat overexposed and lets me know exactly where your light source was =) another part of the photo that i may improve on is the overall composure of the shot. part of the challange states that the subject (the final piece) must be the strong point of the picture. in the case of this photo (as well as many others in this challange) my eyes feel distracted and lose concentration on the subject. to fix this i may have tried this shot in B&W, or held the camera closer to the puzzle piece and used a shallow DOF and had the rest of the puzzle in the background.

just my opinion though GL......7

i like the idea and if you consider the butterfly to be the subject of your picture then it fits minimalism. unfortunately the challange states that your subject also has to be the strong point of your submission which in this case i do not believe to be true. the opening in the wall (some i guess call it a window...) is far more dominant than the butterfly. you still achieved a very high score because this is a really beautiful photo and i can see where you tried to fit the theme. the only other comment i have about the picture itself is that the sky seems a bit overexposed which is dissappointing becasue of all the other beautiful colors in the photograph. B+ or an 8 may bump later

i like the idea and th concept but it looks like the background (sky i assume?) is extremely overexposed. i think that i would have scored higher if the background had texture. it fits the theme and is overall a good shot.....6

i like this photo alot but there is one thing that i will nitpick about...
the challange states that...
"Create an image where your subject is the STRONG point of the image, but only occupying a very small portion of the image space."
although im sure that courtney is a very lovely lady it seems that the sun has stolen the spot as the strong point of the picture
overall a beautiful shot but i think that if you would have waited for the sun to sink past the horizon it would have fit the challange better.....7

judging by your title the hill is the subject of your picture but the challenge describes that the subject must also be the strong point of your image. in this case, the clouds seem to have taken control of the picture as the strong point. nice concept and i know you cant control the weather.

this photo did not score too well with me, but it is not a bad photo at all i just dont think it fits the theme:
"Create an image where your subject is the strong point of the image, but only occupying a very small portion of the image space."
although the person in the bottom left of the frame is what YOU want your subject to be, i think that the hilltops snatch the viewers attentition away from the hiker. some of the rocks also seem a bit overexposed giving the picture a harsh look. sorry but this one got a 5
