A Garden Dreamby BudComment: I'm curious, what processing you have done to get the background to be this way? Personally, I find it to be a little over-processed and bordering on digital art. JMO. |

On the edgeby idemaerschalkComment: There is a line in the image about 2/5 from the left side that I find very distracting from the vase. |

Do you ever, just feel burnt outby Prime_TimeComment: Good details on this macro. The texture of the ash is very good. Compositionaly, I would have preferred that the edge of the cigarette butt weren't cropped out of the photo. For me, the angle of the ash leads my eye up to the left side but because the subject has been cropped, it allows my eye to leave the photo off the edge. JMO. |

Innocenceby fadedbeautyComment: Good work on this portrait. Nice catchlight. Interesting expression. If you aren't getting good votes, it might be bacuase people want more of an off-centre placement perhaps by cropping along the backside of her head. JMO. |

LLOYD STREET by WaysOfSeeingComment: This is a very nice perspective shot ... remember this place the next time a perspective challenge comes up. It's weird that even though the main at the end of the arches is definitely placed off-centre, the illusion created by the shadows of the arches makes it look like he has climbed stairs and is approaching the centre of the photo ... but don't worry, I'm not taking marks off because my eyes are being fooled. Overall, very nice shot. Good tonal range. Lots of interest. |

old amberby byoungComment: Very cool. The textured background is very nicely exposed. The splash of amber colour instantly attracts the eye as the main subject. Well done. |

Rat Trapby BRCPRESComment: What a geat location. It offers so much opportunity for interesting photos, including this shot. I would have liked the lines of the shot to have been a little more horizontal and vertical (a rotational crop would have worked nicely). JMO. |

Look to lightby beafliesComment: This is a very nice photo. The lighting is very good and the background black ensures good visual weight to the cat and the flowers. I have to subtract some marks because of the strong centre weighting of the cat. I can't distinguish between the cat or the flowers as the main subject and with the cat being dead centre, the shot sort of misses the mark on the challenge. JMO |
