Battle ravagedby Elvis_LComment: I'm guessing that many have commented that this shot has missed the complementary colour based on colour theory. On my calibrated screen I see yellow and pink. Perhaps the processing changed the flower from purple to pink? JMO |

Harmonyby bledfordComment: The complimentary colours of green is red and I feel that the flower is too pink to really fit into the complementary colour category. The photo itself looks to be good. Also, I think that for DPC, the border is too much ... the photo becomes too small to properly judge although I think in print form, the border would probably look cool on a decent sized photo. JMO |

A New Breedby trumpetwalrusComment: A very cool idea and the seam on the apple is very good. I really find the black object to be very distracting ... it was the first thing I noticed in the photo and my eye keeps being drawn to it. |

Tortoise complexionby marboComment: Fantastic looking colours and cool texture. I would have liked to have seen some catchlight in the eye to add a little life to the animal. |

Leading Linesby KonadorComment: Of all the selective desat images, this is my favorite. Good leading line. Nice processing. |

Flood Tide & Cattails — Sunset by Bear_MusicComment: Bear, Congrats on the first place finish!!! A beautiful shot. The composition is great. I really like the depth you gave this by including the bullruhes. Great job. |

waiting for playtimeby tomzinhoComment: This is an okay shot and I like how the bench draws us to the ball. Something I immediately thought of, keeping your title in mind, is that it would have been cool with a wide angle close up of the ball and the playground in the background somehow. |

by BradComment: So it looks to me that you might have a wonderful photo here. I really like the lines and the curly-q at the end of the flower. While I believe that as a print, the strong and oversized border would be pleasant on the wall to see, here, it is a negative for me because it takes away from being able to enjoy what I think might be a really nice photo. after classesby agenkinComment: This is a good shot and really presents well in B&W (you know, good tonal range stuff). For me, there are a couple of minor things that might have improved the shot ... there is a shadow behind the couple and it looks really strange, like an extra person trying to pick the guys pocket. I know it was just the way the light was working, but it looks like an extra person. Also, the reflections are a bit of a distraction, but only minor. Finally, the squarish crop isn't working for me ... I think I would have like some of the bottom dark space cropped away. These are all just personal preferences. After all those critical comments, I do like the photo a lot and I gave it a good rating. |
