1886 Grist Millby docurrieComment: This does a good job of capturing an era, so you get points for meeting the challenge. Photographically, the composition is okay but I find the light very very harsh. Not sure if a shot during the 1st or last hour of the day was possible, but I think that would have given a warmer light to this shot. |

Lost by heidaComment: Congratulations!!! I was one of the 50 to rate this 10. As one of your other comments mentioned, I also think of Wuthering Heights when I view this. It has a great mood and is very deserving of the recognition. Message edited by author 2005-08-08 01:20:12. |

91 Second Swirlby ourwebstopComment: Cool swirl. Composition is very interesting with everything in the centre. This is one of those times where the rule of thirds doesn't apply. I really like the subtle lines to the outside, but the bright section to the left of centre is just a bit too bright for my liking. |

Cribbageby LadeeMComment: I don't think anyone else mentioned this ....
Generally speaking odd numbers are more pleasing to look at than even numbers. This applies to many areas such as design and gardening but it also applies to photographic and artistic composition. So, in addition to the fron peg being a bit of a distraction, it is the even numbered peg that could be removed. The could then sort of follow the line to the winning peg. To add even more strength for cultures used to viewing things from left to right, you could have set this up so that the leading peg finished on the right side. JMO. |

Inner Harborby kevinfComment: Very nice lighting and the long exposure has such a nice effect on the sky. Good stuff. |

Bedroom dancingby pmottaComment: This is cool. Sort of moody. Not fond of the square framing, but that is my only complaint. |
