I was wondering if you maybe were trying to have the sky blown out like it is. I think in that case you should maybe aught to make the back of the train whiter as well. That way it would be more of an effect and the viewer would see what you were trying. It sure would add mistery to the picture like it was coming out of the fog.

I have very often the same problem here in Iceland. The sky is full of clouds and with "normal" or automatic photography it always gets blown up! What I usually do is to take darker pictures and light them up afterwards. In that way I do not loose the details of the clouds. See f.x. my Fool on the hill photo.
