Yeah, but I was there a couple of months ago and the piece wasn't there anymore. Did they put it back? That seems unlikely.

It was reinstalled earlier this summer. Jared (the museum guy 312-280-2660) has lots of information on the Museum if anyone is interested in tours!!

No way! No way!-can't believe it!! MY FIRST BLUE!! I screamed to myself when I saw the Blue Ribbon--#1. I am too thrilled and want to thank all of you for your inspiring votes and comments--It's gonna be a good, NO GREAT day!!

I was surprise at most of the comments who thought this was a real scene, especially with the guard-rope evidence near the bottom of shot, but as a few of you acknowledged--it is actually a realistic sculpture in front of Contempory Art Institute of Chicago (title?). It is an actual car w/ trailer propped into the ground and lopsided!! Like anyone at first sight I thought it was an actual accident. It was mid afternoon, sat on steps in front of this sculpture and shot about 40 images of observing people surrounding it--waiting for the idea composition/story. Originally shot in color, I thought the bright yellow cab in background would be too distracting from the sculpture's monotones. I've should have used a faster shutter (as suggested) and sharpened just a bit for better clarity-but rushed before the midnite deadline "Stupid Stupid"--could this qualify? THANKS SO SO MUCH!!! -- Bus352

I don't know if this was staged or merely opportunistic, either way, it's brilliant.

What an opportunity. Nice being in the right place at the right time. Contrast is good, but clarity of image is a bit soft. Maybe a higher shutter speed.

OMG....um how did it plow into the cement? I'm going to wager it was actually artwork. The trailer would be way more smashed.

okay, it's clearly street art / scultpure ,BUT the fact that you caught some guy on the phone looking at it is sheer genius. it adds a certain context to the image that works brilliantly and lifts it above 90% of the other entries in the challenge. i certainly hope this ribbons because the timig is great. the B&W adds to the voyeuristic and journalistic nature of the picture, and is nicely bright and clear. i'm interested to know where this scultpure came from; never seen a caravan like that in america, nor the fiat uno. interesting. really funny and a great shot, and fits the challenge. 10.

For a minute I thought this was real, then I noticed the rope to the right of the car. Pretty funny display/statue however! ;^) You've titled it just right and catching the guy on the phone puts it all together well. Good luck!
