Up and Aroundby ShaneBlakeComment: Strong composition. Lovely sky and just the right amount of contrast in the foreground. Personally I think it should have scored higher. I guess it wasn't "from the ground up" enough for some voters - very picky lot they are. |

Autumnby ShaneBlakeComment: Very well done. I love the colours and the textures. Would look very nice plaque mounted, bottom weighted to allow for a Title and Signiture. |

Three Birdsby PrismComment: The composition of your image and the way you have it framed is fine. The image quality is just terrible, mostly from the grain and being out of focus. My guess is that you cropped this image heavily. |

Extraordinary City of Torontoby notonlineComment: I love doing night shots. I think this is great. The only thing I would have probably done differently is try and shoot without the foreground elements, maybe move closer to the railing (or whatever) and try and capture the reflection more. FWIW, it can't believe this only got 5.9 and some imbeciles actually gave it 1s and 2s.

Keine Lustby SJCarterComment: Good composition and great natural expression. You have the grundgy look going there which works well for this shot. Only nit is it's a tad oversharpened in my opinion. |

James River from Indian Rockby SJCarterComment: Love the composition but it almost looks over-processed/over-sharpened by looking at the unnatural looking gradient in the sky and the haloing on the hills. Would love to see a straight from camera version because I believe this image has great potential. |

RR Bridge @ Indian Rockby SJCarterComment: In my opinion where you have so much going on in this image colour would work better to show the separation between the elements. Maybe at the same time bumping up the vegetation colours a little. |

The Wharfby hysmorComment: That looks like a NODECO sticker on the door of the shed. I'm guessing somewhere along the highway between Long Harbour and St. John's. I would have guessed there would be more Autumn colours in the trees though, being taken in the last week.
Composition is good with the diagonal placement of the wharf and use of leading lines. The eye is drawn to the bouy and then back again through the composition. One thing I see is lack of crispness in the image. A little USM would work wonders here. Hope this is helpful. |
