You don't bring me flowersby posthumousComment: Interesting, artsy image, and it connects well with the title. It's just not grabbing my attention. Still, I'm giving it a 6 for visual interest a clear artistic vision. |

Embraceby MarfunComment: Good macro! The lack of visual separation between the spider and the flower leaves me a little less wowed, though. I can imagine you sitting there trying to figure out how to crop it, since the spider's face is clearly the central focal point, but the spider's legs are asymmetrical: put the spider's face in the middle and lose some of the legs on the left or keep the whole spider in there and lose the symmetry? I'm not sure there's a perfect answer, but I'll tell you this: I repeatedly found myself zooming my screen in so I could explore its face. You seem to have captured lots of good detail there, but the choice to show its whole body, combined with the small size required by the challenge, meant I couldn't see it well. |

d e c o m p o s i t i o nby Ja-9Comment: Nice use of the space, and there's plenty to explore visually. However, the low contrast leaves me wanting more pop, which would also really bring out the shapes and patterns. |

Lemon Sunby KelliComment: still life. Given the long shape, I'd like it better if I could dive into the texture of fewer lemons. I'm wondering what a really tight crops on 3 or 4 would look like. Also, careful about the exposure: ordinarily, a few hot spots wouldn't bother me, but since I'm craving texture here, those blown-out areas diminish my interest. |

Why did the gator cross the road?by KMcCComment: Nice shot of the gator, but I feel it doesn't really take advantage of the long, thin shape this challenge encouraged. Does it work to crop it tighter, with less visible above the gator? Doing that would also enlarge the gator, giving me more of the interesting shapes of its body, legs, and skin to explore. It's also pretty low contrast, leaving me without that "wow" feeling. |

The Ohlone Wayby GeneralEComment: A good use of the photo's shape to draw my eye through the various parts. However, without a strong subject, I'm left without something to focus on, and wondering what the thing is at the bottom.
Also, why the black bars on top and bottom? I don't think they're needed. |

Waningby ShaneBlakeComment: This makes me want to see the full curve. I wonder if it might work better with the entire moon. However, a circle doesn't strike me as a natural fit to the long, thin shape this challenge enforces. |

Reflectionby hajekaComment: Good use of the long, thin shape this challenge requires. However, the jumble of shapes and muted colors don't do much for me. |

Pointedby giantmikeComment: Nice use of the space, and some interesting lines and colors. However, it doesn't really pop for me. But much more importantly, does it pop for *you*? |

waitingby jmritzComment: I like how the title matches the photo. However, I'm not crazy about the subject being centered vertically; I keep wanting something interesting to be above or below the car. I'd probably like it better even with just white above the car, but nothing below the car.so my eye is drawn down to the subject, |
