Nice concept but the fact that the hand isn't grasping the pen hurts the execution of the concept. I would also try a slightly different angle to eliminate the empty sleeve in the mirror.

The coloration by the candle light is appropriate for this composition. The ink bottle is somewhat hidden by the glare of the candle and might be better seen if moved about level with the hand. You might also want to try cropping the left side of the image to just left of the candle flame to help minimze the negative space at the top left corner.

Rock Paper CD

Nice B&W conversion. The paper is not really obvious in this photo. The background behind the rock and cd is somewhat distracting.

A nice image but could use a little more contrast for my taste. The softness of this image doesn't really work due to the lack of contrast. The grain look is very effective.

Old and new

The concept is good but the image is lacking sharp focus where the eye is directed to look (at the cross point). If you decide to reshoot this image, you may want to try showing the tip of the feather with ink stains to help drive your title home.

Old writer's stationery

An old typewriter is not the strongest example of stationery but I can accept it as meeting the challenge. The image is kind of cluttered and the glare on sticker on the typewriter is a distraction.

Curled Paper & Pencil

This image really needs to be a bit more high key to make it work. The lines are very pleasing but I do not fully understand why the pencil is there.

Bunched Pencils

Good focal point and lighting; however the background doesn't work with this image. The brown background sort of blends in with some of the pencil colors and steals the potential pop of this image.
