Gimme...Gimme...Gimme...by ursulasComment: Very cute...I think I have seen something similar to this on a regular basis on my deck too. Whatever that is in the top left corner it distracts from the pup and the milkbone. Now give that puppy his bone. =o) 7 for the cute puppy....I'm the animal lover! |

New Watermelon Flavorby CamComment: Very nice and appealing photo. Only problem I see is the bottle is crooked and would probably look better if it were rotated slightly to straighten it out. Still very nice...8 |

The bench appears to be your main focal point and should be in better focus. As it is now my attention is drawn to the road in the background for two reasons first it is brighter in contrast and secondly it appears to be in focus when compared to the bench.
Try having the bench in focus with the road out of focus and you will have a very strong photo.

Remember Whenby slingshotComment: Critique Club
It's a very interesting photo and before getting this to critique I had seen your post in the forum of both this and the full color version. I'm guessing you used Photoshop. I'm not sure if photoshop offers the sepia toning that PSP does, but that would have given you that nostolgic look without the pink sky. Which really the pink sky is your only downfall to this photo. The sky just grabs your attention and takes away from the caboose. Personally, I would have either used sepia toning or went with the natural colors. The sky just takes away from the rest of the photo.
Overall your focus is good as is the composition, and it does fit the challenge well. Keep up the good work and just watch out for distracting elements that take away from your subject.

Between the Yellow Linesby dphillipsComment: Critique Club
Nicely fits the challenge. The image is lacking that luster to win. As someone else said this would have been a great selective saturation photo. Then you could have took the attention from the cars in the background and made the focus of your photo the yellow convertible. I believe the other cars in the parking lot just take from the subject. |
