Suspension Suspense by B-TeasleyComment: That's a cool looking bridge, but there's nothing here that grabs my attention. It might have helped to shoot the bridge from a POV on the other side of the roadway, so that the curve would bring the bridge into the shot instead of having it curve away from the center.
Generally, photos that are this dark overall do not score high in voting.
The boat is a nice addition, though it detracts from the bridge being the focal point of the image. The boat is what I want to look at in this one.
You're off to a pretty good start here at DPC. I look fwd to seeing more of your photos. |

Gold Feathers in Golden Ratioby ciaeagleComment: This is very similar to a bird we have here in S Florida that we call a Killdeer. I see that this one has been banded.
Nice shot, with good detail and color against the OOF background.

watchdogby tnunComment: Same for me on the wiper blade looking like a gun barrel. Maybe you should edit the description and just let people guess. The dog shows up after you get past the initial surprise. |

Meep Meep!by cginoComment: I can't remember ever seeing one of these in the wild. They are a dry countryside kind of bird, so we do not have them here in Florida.
Nice photo. He has enough contrast to stand out, even against the brown BG so that you can see the feather details. Maybe she had a nest nearby and was trying to draw you away. You were fortunate to get this close and that the light was so good. |

Born On The Bayou by CoryComment: Cute little devils,, and they have sharp teeth too. We used to play with them when I was a kid, but you have to watch out for the "momma gator".
Congrats on one of the finest gator photos I have seen anywhere, and kudus on the Red! Message edited by author 2012-08-17 02:29:15. |

Crystalline Feathers at Lake's Edgeby hahn23Comment: The bit of rock in the top corner sort of anchors this one to reality, instead of it just being a total abstract of the ice. It's an interesting look at the natural world in action.
We very rarely see any kind of ice like this where I live, and then it's only where there is very shallow water in manmade things like bird baths. |

Sentry at Sunsetby ciaeagleComment: This is a grand composition including the colors in the sky being orange on one side, blue on the other. That makes it different from most sunset shots.
There are some technical flaws that caused it to get dinked in voting, but the scene and the composition are superb.
Hope you get your monitor problem solved
