Fingers are blurred on the top picture, but it does give a sense of motion. And I guess they aren't even really blurred. It's just that you can see them moving. Definitely not a bad thing in my book, but I know plenty who would take that into account. Great picture.

This is contre-jour according to the instructional text next to the challenge name.
All they said was "Camera pointing towards or roughly towards the main light source."
