The Goose Lady by zifengwComment: love it. no need to ramble on what I like about it. nothing to critique. |

Towards a New Lifeby wei1108Comment: fantastic job telling this story. focus on the man, keeping enough details in the background to tell the story. even reducing the colors for support is a good choice. |

Through The Ashesby CboydrunComment: technically great. by keeing the DOF so shallow you keep the focus on the eyes. But what role do the ashes play in your portrait? For me they take away from an otherwise great portrait |

shadow manby black_countComment: you did well in sparating your model from the background. If you allow one critique: too much detail in the book. I spend more time trying to read than looking at your model. |

Play, guitar, playby Yo_SpiffComment: I like the composition of your shot. Going down to his level certainly helps to be drawn into the picture and explosre more. |

South Beach denizenby LevTComment: beautiful study. down to the "details" in the beard and the brightness underneath the hat. |

Christmas Chocolate!by JulietNNComment: Juliet,
this picture for me is a PERFECT example of what we learn here at DPC about composition, exposure and all the other technical "stuff". And THEN we start applying all these technical things to our every day photography.
These shots are not popular here at all. BUT capturing precious moments, technically sound is a huge part of our life.
For basic editing (no touching up eyes,...) you did a great job with this photo. You just fell into the "unpopular" bucket :(
