4 - Arriving Lateby tvsometimeComment: I really like your conversation to b&w - I like to notice little details like the crease in the back of his pants and how his color is up in the back to block the drafts. Good focus considering a ss of 1/50th and the subject on the move. |

African Jacana (PAW 4/52)by HarveyGComment: A beautiful shot as always Harvey. Maybe it's my monitor but there are no blown out spots as I can see detail in all the whites. It's always a bonus when you get them doing something normal for them - eating - and unusual for us to witness. Beautiful textures and patterns and a real treat as that bird doesn't live in my neck of the woods. |

Brrrrrby bhugeComment: I thought this would score higher although there is nothing wrong with 13th place. It's such a visual delight and perfect for the challenge as the burst of color isn't so in your face but rather just a beautiful addition to a skillfully composed shot. It would make a wonderful print and/or this photo would represent January perfectly in a calendar. |

DPC1stTrypby adriano74Comment: I like this - it makes me think of my kids trees when they were young - we had a big one for the house and then 4 little ones decorated by my sons .. I hope you stick around - your positive attitude is refreshing. |

Aging Gracefullyby jomariComment: Aw yes, you truly created a very accurate shot of the fading glory of a hydrangea - lovely detail and an image that is soft but not for lack of focus .. just lovely. |

3 - Peekby colorcarnivalComment: Nice texture on the bark of the tree. Sneaky little squirrel hoping you have some peanuts lol. I agree about the saturation but it's your choice - some like it, some don't. The reason I would like to see the colors muted down a tad is because it doesn't lead my eye up the tree as readily - those branches are wonderful and I see them sooner if I wasn't looking at the textures - I hope that makes sense and you see it as just personal choice on my part. |
