Dolls gone ( to the ) Wildby GThumbtackComment: I think this would be better with more "wild," particularly with the grasses coming up from the bottom of the frame, as well. I would be careful not to crop the feet, and if you could move the cabbage patch up to hide more of the wicker, that'd be good, too. I do like the image of these two dolls as friends! |

you've got a friend in meby laurie241Comment: For this kind of an image, I would like to see the entire characters, including feet. I think it would be more interesting if the dolls were placed in a context rather than posed against a solid background. That said, I like the pairing, the image is very crisp, and the pose is quite nice. |

Which one is not like the others?by rarmermannComment: Your subject is very cute, but I think there are too few bears showing to really make it an interesting picture. Also, I think it would be better if the dog were not centered in the photo. |

circa 1972by RetroesqueComment: I like that you've done this shot from above rather than the standard 3/4 portrait view. I think that even with the shallow depth of field, the lace trim is still a little bit distracting, as the focal point seems to be the eyes. I think you could probably go even more shallow, or maybe shift the doll or just turn her head to put a her dress a little more into the shadow. |

Prelude to Freedomby togtogComment: I like the creative take here, but I'm not loving the presentation. I think I would like to see the puppet hand held in a less natural way, and if the strings had not been such a bright white, I think the image might have a better flow. |

Inspired by Hurrellby jnenvirComment: I think you could have made the shadow an even bigger part of this shot. The shape is very interesting! |

Matryoshka- Russian Nesting Dollby LoreneComment: I love this shot! I think the shallow depth of field is great with the softening rings, but I wish on the whole doll the near eye were as sharp as the far one. |

The Queen of Heartsby freakin_hilariousComment: I really like the soft background here coupled with the doll's stiff expression. The colors are great. I wish there was a little bit less shadow on the doll's face. |

But Sir! Your proposal has strings attached, no doubt?by drydocComment: This is a really beautiful choice of subject, and the poses are great. I think the idea of putting these puppets in a natural setting is very creative, but I think in this case the textures and colors distract from the main subjects. I think this could have benefited from a simpler background or a shorter depth of field to keep focus on the puppets. |

Sky Puppetsby jefftoews9Comment: I like your creative interpretation! Kites are like puppets on strings! I think I would have liked to see more of the standing subject's shadow rather than the empty ground on the right. I think you did the right thing here in making the horizon line so low so the ground texture would not overwhelm the kites in the empty sky. |
