An interesting image that contributes well to the open challenge
You’re right Joanna, those boots really do catch the eye, they draw you into the image, unfortunately so does the yellow bottle which I find distracts e from the them of the image. A lot can be conveyed in good choice of a title which I think you done here, but given the bucket he’s sat on a possible alternative may have been ‘all clear!’. I suggest that because it looks as though he’s having an urgent moment on the toilet and his mate is keeping a lookout for himâ€Â¦!?! |

An appealing image that contributes well to the open challenge
What a fascinating scene, well seen and captured Joanna. Technically, I think your focus could have been improved bringing it closer to capture their feelers sharper as opposed to the leaf itself, this would also have rendered the eggs a little softer but still clearly identifiable for what they are. Its still a great shot, well done Joanna. |

This is a fascinating image, mostly because most wasps are yellowy and black, first time I've seen one with such colouration...so that definitely adds exotic appeal to the pic. At first I thought it was challenging its reflection in a camera lens, but then read your notes. Good idea to rotate the image to make the water look like something else, without losing the impact of the shot. The settings are all spot on, ambient light seems OK and the composition works well in this square format. And for what I believe to be your first entry here, a very respectable placing in a Free Study. Keep up the good work and would like to see more soon,
