13 stringsby HoghemaruComment by Alex_Petrini: Original take compared with most of the other entries: probably voters didn't take the time to count the strings - unfortunately it happens a lot of times lately. |

13 stringsby HoghemaruComment by Garry: Never figured out how one plays a 7-string. Tried playing 5-string bass for a while, and just threw me for a loop. Power to you! Back to the image, I really like the composition, the lighting is a touch flat and soft though, so we're losing some contrast and definition in the axes. |

B is for Bendingby HoghemaruComment by Mike: critique club.
i forget what i voted this image in voting but i remember scoring it high, great DOF simple, effective. i only wish for the focus to be a bit more on the fingers, its seem slightly in front of them.
also maybe a a bit more of the neck leading up to the hand to really draw the viewer in.

Do You Want Some T?by HoghemaruComment by Hoghemaru: Originally posted by smardaz: Hello, Critique Club again :)
I'll get right to the point since you ask why the placing is so low. I hope you don't mind my being so blunt but my guess is the voters simply found this an unintersting shot. It is very mundane, and people are looking for something that catches their attention more than a close up of a drawer.
If you're going to take a picture of an everyday object you need to really knock it out of the park with the processing. If I were to redo this shot I would say take a shot of the entire cabinet, perhaps converting to black and white or using a filter to really bring out the grain of the wood. Don't be discouraged, this is how we learn. Keep Shooting! :)
