Golden Stardustby JunieMoonComment by pcody: I like the concept of this one. The score it got doesn't mean you shouldn't go back and play with the idea. Try using only one and two colors for backgrounds. All the colors gave it a busy feel, imo, not the layering of the crystal on the snowflake. What I like about it is the illusion that it's splashing in water. See if you can come up with a simple composition that brings out that aspect. Try different points of view. I'm thinking a little lower and angled closer to the crystal might be interesting. Try about 50 shots and if you can't come up with something more interesting, stop and move on to something else. This one also displays the centered disease. |

Black and White decisionby JunieMoonComment by pcody: Hi. If I could offer just one piece of advise for your photography, it would be to study composition. From looking at your entries, you seem to understand lights and exposure(even though most of your's are really bright, perhaps caused by post-processing?). What they suffer from most is the "centered" disease. I'm still in that phase too! But it causes the picture to lack excitement, if you know what I mean.
On this picture, did you consider what story the objects tell? Was there a reason to include all the vases? What about the tilted picture? So a second piece of advise would be to only include objects that support what you are trying to say. hth |

Oxidized Metal Sculptureby JunieMoonComment by mihaibadic: I dont like this at all, i think any tourist can make this photo.
A creative choice of subject, good composition, contrast and color, maybe some extra techniques like depth of field or panning etc are some things needed to make a challenge entry very interesting. Your image has none.
You just saw metal as the theme for the challenge and made a shot of some metal on the street. Sorry, no creativity points there.
Even the name could have been something related to time and the world since u have a clock there. The name is not the description.
Hope my comment was useful to motivate you. Keep trying |

Oxidized Metal Sculptureby JunieMoonComment by SJCarter: I really like this shot - and I like the fact that the building's clock is "inside" the sculpture. Beautiful green colors, slightly overexposed, but a great shot! |
