G Shadowsby res0m50rComment by arngrimur: I like the composition and the perspective. The lighting feels a bit harsh. I would also try different angles in the lighting to avoid the light into the soundhole. |

G Shadowsby res0m50rComment by pawdrix: This is an interesting shot but the lighting is a little harsh. Your dof use is more appealing than the other image you posted. I might have stopped to f10-11 and focussed on the 10th or 12th fret.
This is an early dof study that I did when I first got my D70. I beieve I used 100w bulb in a desklamp overhead. Message edited by author 2006-02-09 10:24:34. |

Linesby res0m50rComment by srdanz: I do not find this one as interesting as the other one. Your focal point is too far from the wood, and your leading lines lead nowhere. Even if you left more negative space, it seems like that would have been better than to lead to the ceiling of the photo. I would try the following things (not necessarily all at one time):
- focusing farther down , to get the edge of the guitar in focus
- adding more negative space on top
- changing the perspective only slightly, either to have the strings lead from bottom left to top left, or to lead diagonally towards top-right.
This one just did not have the impact as the other one did. IMO only of course. |

G Shadowsby res0m50rComment by res0m50r: Thanks for the review... and the blown strings isn't my preference... i was using the onboard flash on the 300d... I have a 200e, but can't figure out how to adjust the output.. still got lots to learn about the new camera |

G Shadowsby res0m50rComment by srdanz: You have one steady hand (not as much as in another shot though). Love the texture in the veneer. The crop seems just right, and so is the DOF. Strings seem to be a bit blown, but that could be a personal preference. |

Red Light 4by res0m50rComment by adyus: I think this one is the most interesting of the candle photos I've seen. The composition is solid and the color gradient on the candle really draws the eye towards the wick. Maybe you could replace the background with something less bright? I think it's a little too harsh for the eye. Overall a good photo in my opinion. |
