Comment by Jutilda:
I have a special place in my heart for drummers as both my husband and son play them well.

This is a great stop action. tT has enough blur to indicate the motion of the sticks, yet there is plenty of definition to show exactly what's going on. Nice use of lighting. The black and white filter works perfectly to show the night sense of it as well as the contrasat.

Between 8 and 6 would be the "odd" number 7. DNMC (kidding)
However, for something titled "Precision", your image does seem quite fuzzy.

What is this? It really is an awesome looking photo, but you cant tell what it is or how it relates to the theme.

Yep Zero... The light was very low and I was hand holding this one. We shot some slaved to the speedlites but I turned the transmitter off for a few and this was one so I had to stop up to compenstate for the lack the hand hold in low light. I guess at 1/125th I could have gotten away with f4 or so but I also wanted to blur the background as much as possible since it was her bedroom wall and I didn't want any detail at all.

Comment by zero42:
why did you use such a high f-stop? was it to compensate for the low light?
