Actually, Perfect, this was not intended to be a joke. I merely enjoy "word-play" and duble entendre...

"On the level" can mean "physically level or riding on a level stretch of road." However, it can, also, mean "being completely truthful and honest."

"Making the grade" can mean "getting good marks for excellence" or "handling a significant incline in the road."

Put it ALL together and you have a phrase that means "Volvo rides smoothly as though driving on a level stretch of road, when actually taking on the challenge of handling an incline in the road."

Yet, this same phrase can mean "Volvo is being completely honest when trying to impress you enough to make high marks for Excellence!" :)

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Initial impression: Very cute, almost expect to see a Jimmy Carter ref in there too :-0

Technical: Slightly busy in terms of composition; find it hard to locate the focal point, eye roves around too much. Ambient lighting fine, a little drab perhaps. Would look to see this closed down an f-stop or two, maybe slow the shutter to 1/80. On a personal level I think you relied a little too much on post-processing; on this site, you must still have a good, clean shot to work with. All the pp in the world will not help a poor shot.

Artistic: As already noted, the gravel in the upper left area distracts the eye from the scene in the foreground.

Overall: A good try, reminds me of my early days here - feel free to look at my first few dozen entries or so, they'll make you feel better. :-) Keep shooting, that's the only way to go.

really nice work on the image - it has that glossy feel that really speaks advertisement.

i just don't like the use of quotation marks at all. They seem a bit unnecessary. When I see quotes, I want to see who is being quoted. Here you are advertising something...if you are quoting Motor Trend or some other award - then quotes make sense....sorry just a bit of a nit-pick!
