creative interpretation of the challenge, but also a literal fulfillment of the challenge. the eye is drawn to the "subject" but then immediately drawn out of frame, or the eye relaxes and takes in the lovely shapes of light in the overall composition. 10

Nicely exposed image, but having a person in the frame, even a partial person, creates a subject for the eye to fix upon which will almost always dominate the composition.

Thank you.
I have been grinning all week - one little comment apart from Steve's comment. Well, sometimes the dpc-ers just live up to their reputation.
Someone here has this signature: "I want to thank the narrow people for clarifying what's really important." Wish I had written that :)
That same person also says: "Be an artist, not a score whore" (Had to come back and edit, had not gotten that last one right.)

Gugi, I think you really need more than just two comments on this shot! At first, I thought the guy was a Ken doll, not a real person. Too bad about the shadows on his face, but probably wasn't the best opportunity to use fill flash. I love, love, love his black & white feathers! (not so crazy about the pink ones, unless he had all pink feathers - but that's neither here nor there). When I first saw this, I think my mind was set on that Steve was at some place - so I didn't really make the connection to the entry, being as how my head was stuck in landscapes. Now I see that the idea is that Steve is partying, which I think (now) is a great idea! It's a fun take on the challenge. I didn't score this very high to be honest. If the detail in the man had been as strong as it is in the clouds, it would've boosted my score. Hope you don't mind my comments. You know you're one of my favorite photographers in the whole world.

Greetings from the Critique Club

First off, I LOVE reading your description! Isn't amazing the things we do to get pictures sometimes. I will go look at the setup in your portfolio in a bit.

I thought this was a very good shot when I voted during the challenge - it wasn't a static, head-on shot, which to me indicates a good imagination - you gave it some thought and effort and to me, it paid off. I really like the color and lines created by the intersections of the mirrors. The slightly different angles give each reflection a slightly different look, which creates interest and keeps the viewer engaged.

The lighting is good - I like that there's no significant glare in the lens face. Focus is pretty good, particularly for a reflection. The word "Nikon" could be just a tad sharper but again, since it's a reflection, that's hard to do.

A well done shot, and a great interpretation of the challenge.
