Great to get all these comments and, something to learn from each one. I had never taken a 2 sec shot before, and of course I got it wrong - thought 2 was two seconds. Now I know it is 2´´. And then I could have moved a few stops instead. Thank you all - and even 1 fave :-)
I checked in forum, and saw that I would not get DQ'ed and entered because I really wanted to see how it would do. But I do try to meet the challenge every time.

Cool idea. A little bit too high key for me. I would have liked to at least see all the detail of the cabin on the boat as well.

Very brave ... (I like high key photos and composition like this but I am not quite sure how this would be received here.) But your passion is quite admirable. The only criticism I can offer you is the midplacement between top and bottom makes this composition static - if you place it somewhere an inch up or down, the division between top and bottom would be unequal and would offer additional movement/tension. 9.

Very like a painting. If anything, almost too intense for my taste.

::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
Ok .. so you are sick of seeing ... "where did you get all those pick feathers" .. I am surprised you just didn't admit killing a pink flamingo!

Composition:

not bad .. I would have like the shows to hit the thirds a little better .. but they are nicely hidden in the feathers.

Subject:
Yup meets the challenge.

Technical (Colour and light):
Nice lighting ... interesting colour, interesing use of DOF ... some liked others didn't .. . so that is reflected in the voting ... it is however a nice shot.

To grow its vote?:
Think about the location of the shoes in the bluster of feathers ... trying a number of different crops till one falls right may also help.

Summary:
Your highest score so far - and you only had hours - you are improving .. can't wait to see more of what you manage in a week.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari
