Meets the challenge. I like the complimentary colors. the gradient blue is nice along with the sharp focus. beyond that it's just a leaf. It should end up with a better than average score. Good luck.

Nice subdued colors. I might have cropped a bit closer to minimize the empty black space. There might be some interesting negative space interplay between the edges of the leaves and the edges of the image if the leaves filled more of the space. Also, I might have changed things so the point where the stems come together is near the lower left corner. You almost have the "leading lines" thing going on as it is. 6

The noise in the photo is a problem, and detracts from what you were trying to achieve. There is very harsh lighting, causing bright areas and harsh shaddows in the photo. On top of this, the colours are uninspiring. For this to work, it needed bright colours in the shot.
