5.2.9.by elizadebComment by Zita: Methinks the renovation was done in a most haphazard manner. Oh, dear...
Apropos title. Good find. |

Only One Way to Go?by elizadebComment by tvsometime: Good on topic street shot. No, great on topic street shot. But I hate the funny bars and white line top/bottom borders. Better to ignore them but difficult. If they are to be considered part of the image, I would have to give a 4 because they destroy the spontaneous Cartier-Bresson impact. So I'll forget the bars and give a 7 for the image itself. Seriously, I have argued with others about this issue and haven't heard a convincing argument to justify the silly bars - unless you are trying to emulate the sometimes appearance on a TV screen, which is a completely artificial artifact that couldn'd possibly have surfaced without the modern TV experiance. |

My Cinco de Mayo Pupby elizadebComment by VBW: I'm not a fan of selective desat, but putting that aside while grading today. Instead, I'm grading overall composition and whether i feel like the item that is colored draws my interest or if i feel like it pulls my interest away from something else that i find more personally meaningful in the picture.
In this shot, well. It is a silly decoration posed on a handsome dog. His expression is a bit, "what is this $&()(& next to me?"
So for that, what is colored is a nice choice, but the background is busy- especially the helmets on the blanket. And the dog's eyes look distorted by either a flash or some other light source. Lastly the focus on the eyes is a bit soft. |

Only One Way to Go?by elizadebComment by nam: Love the tones, the glistening sidewalk and wet bench, the woman and umbrella, the lines of the sidewalk. Really do not like the row of cars across the top. Nice try at working them in with the title, but I want them gone or as nearly gone as you dare try. I think I would crop to just above the arrow for here; for elsewhere, I'd get rid of them completely somehow :) |

My Cinco de Mayo Pupby elizadebComment by EL-ROI: Fun shot! The internet loves dogs!!! I think a flash was used here which was a little powerful and blew out some of the highlights on the front of the dog. |
