Weatheredby pncowleyComment by CLarson557: This is a nice picture. I like the mountain in the background. Nicely focused, it shows what detail there is in the "weathered" fencing. Some of the weedy bottom part of the picture is a little undesirable and could have been cropped out. |

Weatheredby pncowleyComment by ursula: Beautiful picture! Reminds me of when we lived in Wyoming in the States. I really like it that the colours are not so intense, but soft. The picture is nice and clear. |

Fresh Snowby pncowleyComment by inspzil: Who in their right mind would give this image a 1? This image is at least as good as mine, and I'd venture to say probably better. Very nice work!!! |

Flying Tigerby pncowleyComment by mbardeen: Oh wow. This stirs emotions with me as my grandpa flew for the Flying Tigers in China. Good shot, but it seems to be a bit over compressed. |

Fresh Snowby pncowleyComment by pncowley: Thanks (to all) for the wonderful comments! I was definitely lucky to have a chance to capture this shot... I actually shot it through one of the openings of a wire mesh fence while stopped on the side of the highway.
And while it would have been fantastic to have 'placed' with a ribbon, I'm pleasantly pleased that it performed as well as it did. In retrospect, I might have performed slightly better if I had cropped a bit tighter (to remove the snow at the lower left corner). My take on it was that it put the entire scene in perspective, and gave it more of a sense of place and reality. I've tried it both ways, and I'm still not sure I would have done things differently.
The surprising piece to me was that there were as many votes in the 1-3 point range... (I guess some folks just must have been jealous? :-) ).
