cool! rock on! best band in the world (well, top 5). he was more "rock" with the blue hair though; shame it's gone...

excellent - i like the brightness of the shot, and it's technically great - sharp, and nicely noise-free. it's an especially good, expressive picture that will do well. 9.

for me, the facial expression is a little too off-the-wall. i love the lighting, and the orange backdrop works especially well. it's just, call me boring, but i'm of the opinion that a prtrait should be a tad more formal - revered even.

SO cute. there nothing wrong with portraits of doggies, and this is especially well done. i love that his face is so sharp, and the background less well-defined - gives a conception of real depth. not entirelt sure you've conveyed a taken-in-the-studio type shot, but in all, very nice. also, perhaps a smidgeon too much couch is visible at the top (slightly tighter crop needed). still, a cute and characterful shot. 7.

right, easy one this. beautiful model, great lighting, fantastic DOF (i love the greyish blurry backdrop), great pose and great cropping. perhaps a little too much softening? dunno, left eyebrow seems less defined than the right one. maybe that's due to the lighting though... still, very good - 9

this is an interesting composition. the clothing is very period, and i think it would have suited an B&W / sepia type aged look very well (but obviously wouldn't fit the challenge). i like the lighting, and i like how she's off-centre. i'm not all that keen on the background - it's just too oppressing because there is too much black. i'm also not too sure that for a portrait, looking up to the left while face is at the camera works too well. minor other thing (something i've been told off for too) the clasp from the necklace seems a bit distracting - putting it behind her neck might help. what this does have though is ample style and a fair amount of flair and originality. from me, it gets a 7

very nice well taken shot. definately looks professional. looks like it's had a touch of post shot softening, but it's been done to a gentle level and works really well. kid has a good expression, and is very photogenic. i think a coloured background might have given greater definition for her hair (kind of dissappears behind her ear), but it still works. my fourth (and last) ten of the week.

i won't mention the title. i won't. honest. the photo: very nice! the pose seems a bit awkward, and not wanting to seem rude to the groom, but the bride is a bit more composed, and i think would be as if not more striking on her own. particularly photogenic. i like what you did in terms of editting. did you use PS for a cross processed look by any chance? (i'm teasing!) it's still a very nice drama-rich shot, very appealing. 8. and a bit of brevity in title department might be nice.

i'm a little in two minds over this. i love how white everything is, and i think it's a very beautiful image. with regards to its portraitedness, i'm not entirely sure... traditionally, the face shouldn't be obscured, but it has so much style and drama, i don't really mind. i bit more colour in the eyes would be nice though, and possibly a little cloning in her right eye, because the reflections look a bit messy. nice shot though - 7.
