Classic Trainsby TerryGeeComment: I think that if you stood right in front of the train it would have been a bit more exciting (for you as well as the viewer) and the composition might have improved (but obviously not your life expectancy). I think this is a great shot, and one of the best at fitting the challenge (I can very easily visualise a type face in the top portion of the picture). Very well done - 9. |

Take it pianoby jonwamComment: Interesting perspective on a well-tried favourite. I didn't think I could ever like another piano shot again, and I was totally wrong. nice one. 8. |

Togetherby shoeboxComment: I do like this picture a lot - quite stylish, a bit moody... The parallel lines don't really appear to be prominent enough to truly fit the challenge (more incidental than strengthening) but they are there, so you hopefully people won't mark you down for that. The only real problem I have is the size of the image - a bit bigger would have greater impact. But it does have great appeal overall, so 8. |

Solitudeby moodvilleComment: One of three tens i felt compelled to give in this weeks challenge. Expression, composure, lighting, focus, DOF (?), everything is totally right. I wish you could give just one picture a week an 11, for this would be it. as it is, 10. |

A Manby ellamayComment: A very excellent submission - though only slight teething problem for me is the very blackness of the guys over-coat. I know it can't be helped, but if the coat were greyer (or blended in with the back ground a little less) it might have given shoulders more shape? Still, a really good portait - 9. |

Hypnotic Stare by librodoComment: This is a really great picture, one of my top three from the challenge. composition and lighting (to me) appears really spot on. 10 |

sonny portraitby jbruno1397Comment: You might have been going for the fuzzy noisy look, but i'm not so sure that it works for this picture - a less noisy (neatimage tinkled) photo might of conveyed the warm comforting feel in the photo better? An image with less noise would have given more detail, which personally i feel is semi-important in a portrait. And finally I would have cropped the bottom off a bit - more head less blanket. Composition though is really good, and i like the lighting. 6. |

Model in daffodilsby KevinRiggsComment: This is a nice enough photo - the only things I can think that might improve it is a little more light (though it might be my screen, not sure) and i'm afraid to say it, a little less hat. I find it a little overpowering - perhaps if there was more of the model in the model / hat ratio? 7. |
