Well i will be honest, i did not shoot this for the contest, i was shooting for my work( i plan to upload those pictures soon) , i was just checking result in PS after shooting , that time i had opened DP window and i saw this contest, all i did was simply crop and that too badly.

Well i really got some nice comments despite my poor entry, i should have tried harder.

Hi I am new here , so i hope you mind my comments.
I will give my views on photographs instead of why you got low scores in this challenge.

Shadow of compass is quiet distracting in foreground also cropping of compass cover is not really a good idea.

Whole idea of shooting this snaps was shallow depth of field, well the idea you had when planning this shot some how doesnot blend together i mean , you yourself say compass was not your subject but it dominates

really cute dog, just like my own dog called pepper, we say "ghumi" which in indian language means to go out see places
