Baseball Digestby backslashComment: Good capture, and a fine layout for a magazine. The ball and foreground have an overprocessed look to them, though. |

The Golden Years - Springby zeuszenComment: Very good shot. I'd like to see more of the sides cropped off. BTW- there's something a little unsettling about retirees walking into an apparent dead-end. It's the End of the Road... |

Northwest Palateby pcodyComment: Funny! "15 Ways to Spruce up a Meal." Would be nicer still with a fancier fork and lower on the page. I'd like to see the fork in perspective to get a better sense of depth (like the pine cones). |

Placesby claudiadfComment: Nice, subtle colors. I like the composition better with the big tree on the left (maybe even the entire left) cropped out. Good job capturing detail in both the bright and dark clouds. |

National Geographicby jas0420Comment: Perhaps a bit common for this publication, but a nice shot and dynamic composition. Light is a little flat. Good job with the cropping. THANK YOU for not strapping a fat yellow border around this! |

Eye Magazine by arnitComment: Eye think you have a winner here. One of my favorites. DOF is just a little too shallow (the highlight and edge of the iris), but what a striking cover! 9 |

Bird Timesby pitsamanComment: Yikes! Any closer and you'd scratch the lens. The detail is so wonderful that I want to see more of it, so the shallow DOF hurts. |

Audubon Magazineby richComment: This little woodpecker really gets around, doesn't he? Great detail and lighting- a worthy entry. You might burn in the right side a bit (a little too bright) and dodge the eye and face to bring out detail. I'd like to see the bird less centered, too. |

Wby AleciaComment: Good composition. Love the eye and hair color. I might have dodged the other eye a bit to bring out some detail. Crop out the white material at bottom to leave more to the imagination. |
