That is a cute little smile. Definately depict something new. I feel the "aww" in this picture. I think the framing is a little tight, maybe back it up a bit so we get a wider view. The lighting gets a bit bright towards the bottom, but the rest of the photo is perfectly lit. No strange shadows, no extremely shiny spots. Congrats and good luck with the challenge.

The hoods of these cars either have dust, or moisture from a drop in temperature going from day to night. The photo definately depicts something new. I think though that when you think of "new" you think of bright and shiny. Could a day time shot have added to the newness, I wonder? The angle on your part is great. Nice job and good luck with the challenge.

Newly pollished, yes. However, precious stones, and even semi precious stones are quite old. I still feel it meets the challenge though cause of them being newly polished and all shiny. unless you were trying to get a light glare, you could try placing a thin cloth or thin paper between your light source and the subject and it will help to spread out the light more so it doesn't glare so bad. I love the assortment of color, and I like how it fills the entire photo. nice shot and good luck in the challenge.

This is beautiful. I love how the houses are just shadows and I love how the sun peeks out of the clouds. The sun seems quite high into the sky for it to be a very new day. I'm thinking still before noon, but do you have a horrizon? I know we have too many trees here to get a good horizon, so maybe it's not possible, but I think a horizon would add to the feeling of newness. Don't think you could have got such a beautiful shot of the sun coming out of the clouds on a horizon though, so it's a toss up. I like your photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

Portrays something new perfectly. It's not very pleasing to look at though cause of all the mud and water puddles. Kind of takes away from the houses. The lighting is great, no distracting shadows. Not too bright and not too dark. Congrats and good luck with the challenge.

I like how you angled the photo so that we could see the yellow paint on the roof. It's slightly reflecting the bottle of green paint and that helps to show how new and shiny it is. You did a really great job of not getting glare, or too much reflection in the paint. I like the bright color, and I like how there is still a bit of green paint on the brush indicating that it was done recently. It makes me wonder if there is more of the house to the right. Great idea, good luck with the challenge.

nice angle of this house. wow, look at all the windows! definately depicts something new. good lighting, nothing too bright and nothing too dark. the top of the house up by the sky is close. if it were any brighter, it might be distracting. good luck with the challenge.

This is a great idea! I love how it was done. Maybe the vegetables could have a bit more lighting, but don't know how you could have done that to make it still look good with that background lighting. The title is Morning Harvest. To me, that reminds me of the vegetables just coming in from outside. Being picked first thing in the morning. That image also produces little droplets of dew. Could a spray bottle be used to produce that kind of slightly damp image I wonder? Another thing that could have added to this already wonderful shot would be to have a longer stem coming off one of the tomatoes or to have the large tomato on the top turned slightly so the stem showed. Great job with this one! Good luck in the challenge.

The little girl is adorable. Looks like she's going to overflow that tub any minute now. lol. I wish the black corrogated tubing could be taken out of the photo. It's so close to the little girl that when I look at her, my eyes are drawn to it. She is so cute that she deserves a prettier background. However, I don't think that huge tub of gallons upon gallons of water is going anywhere, so you probably didn't get to do much picking of the background here. Focus is good and lighting is great. Adorable. Good luck with the challenge.

I like how this is not JUST a photo of a sun rise. There is the "welcoming of the day" aspect by placing the person in the photo. what are the little orange and green colored dots next to the person's left leg? some kind of sun reflection glitch? I like how the tree just kind of falls into the picture on the left, and the reflection onto the water of the sun is perfect. Excelent eye. Good luck in the challenge.
