| 08/18/2002 05:38:00 PM | Dewby SwashbucklerComment: Dew in the morning. Not only is that a "new" thing, but the little pine tree also looks "new". nice angle, pretty colors, and great lighting. the focus varries. in some spots it's really sharp and in some it's softer. I know the background is suposed to be soft, but it's the main needles that are varried. Not sure if this is because of the dew, or what, but the top needles seem sharper than the bottom needles. Good luck in the challenge. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 08/16/2002 01:03:00 PM | Shining Black Carby jerryComment: This is a pretty neat angle. Quite a few new cars in this challenge, but I think I might like the angle of this one the best. There is a skin colored reflection in the front in numerous place. There is one other photo that i rated and commented on this same thing. I myself hadn't even thought about it until then, but when dealing with something reflective, it may be a good idea to wear clothing that matches the color of the subject you are shooting. Unless, of course, you were trying to show this in the "shining" car. This photo score high with me. Great job and good luck with the challenge. |
| 08/18/2002 01:11:00 AM | Reach For The Skyby spillerComment: I love the clarity in the photo, and how it captured the fuzzy stems. I think I have a thing for fuzzy stems or something. However, they aren't really pretty. I think maybe if you could have waited one more day for them to open up just a bit more, there would have been a little more color in contrast to all the green. I like how they are in focus and the background isnt. Your lighting is just fine and I like where they are positioned in the photo. Nice shot and good luck in the challenge. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 08/18/2002 02:42:00 PM | This is where something new is at...by TrexXComment: Oh gee...I know nothing about computers. This looks like a computer part to me, but if you asked me what it does, or the name, I couldn't tell you. So, setting that aside, I will say that the focus and lighting are good. I like the color and it almost looks like you can kind of see though it in some places. The placement is good, and straight withing the frame. Good photo, yes. Something I could stare at for hours, no. That's just an opinion, my little brother would probably have it hanging in his bedroom. lol. Good luck with the challenge. |
| 08/18/2002 04:59:00 PM | New Growthby waltomlComment: This looks like a baby pine tree. And i think it's especially cute with the mama pine tree in the background. Great detail, great lighting. Definately depicts something new. nice shot and good luck with the challenge. |
| 08/15/2002 01:20:00 PM | New Dayby jeremyaComment: not really sure if I view this as a new day. looks stormy and crappy. (not the photo, the sky. lol) also, not sure what that object is. I like the photo. I actually like it a lot, but wish we could have gotten some really cool colors in the sky, or some bright clouds and mabye a horizon would help portray NEW since that's usually where we meet our new day first thing in the morning. Good luck with the challenge. |
| 08/12/2002 01:32:00 AM | Web Designerby HendrikComment: Catchy title. This is a really neat photo. Not only is it a new web, it's a new house, and new dining room table, and a new fridge. Congrats and good luck. |
| 08/15/2002 02:34:00 AM | new lumberby ronComment: I worked in a lumber yard and this picture smells really really good to me. I think it could have been better if the boards were all the same width, better visual impact expecially since the 2X2's (which aren't technically 2X2) are pretty much the same size and create an even vertical spacing. However, I know that has absolutely nothing to do with you, or the quality of your photo, which is very nice. It if were physically possible, you could try to crop the bottom dark boards off and show only the new ones. It kind of gets a blurred look to the bottom left. Smell definately portrays new very nicely and although I can't physically smell your photo, it's still stuck in my nose. Great idea! Good luck with the challenge. |
| 08/16/2002 10:38:00 AM | New Tinby crisa58Comment: Peek a boo! I think I see you! Is that your shadow down there coming out of the left corner? Ah, who cares. This photo cracked me up anyway. Reminds me of my house. We have all this old siding and then last winter, a really bad storm damaged one of the siding pieces and it was replaced with an uncolored (ready to paint) piece. So our house is a 15 year old tan color and has this ONE gray stripe. lol. I absolutely love this picture. Great eye for the something new. Good luck with the challenge. |
