Surely that just leaves the rosemary?
Great shot though - I loved it. |

Well, I was trying some experimentation on DOF and I guess it kind of backfired. That combined with the fact that "new potatoes" is not a common term to many people probably killed me this week. Oh well....live and learn. LOL.
ps -- the Potatoes were delicious. All of the ingredients (save the potatoes and olive oil) were from my garden. Yum. |

Your dof choices (blurred in the front, in focus in the back) don't thrill me, but I like the image. To me, its a stretch to think of new potatoes as "new", per this challenge, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. 6 sjgleah |

I like the colors. I think the DOF is a bit too shallow, though. One of my favorite subjects... Food. -mmmm |

Very imaginative, and a very well taken photo. |

If the front potatoes were sharper this could go straight into a cook book. The composition is wonderful. |

Yummy! This would have faired well for "textures" too. Good set up and appeal. |

I would have prefered to have it all in focus, or at least the ones in front. |

makes me hungry. would have like to see all the potatoes in focus. |

Ha! When I saw the new topic on Sunday, new potatoes was actually the first thing that came to my mind. :) I like the idea of course and the colors. The composition is nice but I'm wondering if you tried others that showed more of the potatoes in frame from that same angle of view. I would also probably like to see more of the potatoes in focus. Looks good enough to eat, though! Score: 5 Courtenay |

a little blurry, are you only interested on focusing on the top right potatos?

Please post the recipe!!! Also a very creative inclusion of the theme. I hope most people understand that small potatoes are called new potatoes. It's hard to tell how small they really are in this closeup |

Since we've already been through my justificaton/reasons for giving you a 7 for this photo, I will just remind you that the whole world votes on these photos. Try to think about is this a somewhat localized idiom, or would the whole world call these little guys as the type called New? Everyone knows French Fries are not really from France, but they know what French Fries are. Would everyone know julien or au graten? Smiles! Swash (I am not a potato expert/freak/geek, really!) |

I don't know...I think that I would have liked it a bit better if it were completely in focus...the blurry potatoes in the foreground throw me off.. |

YUM. (For me) this needs more DOF. Before anyone rants about people not liking DOF experiments, I actually do, but just not in this one. 6, Kavey |

Good job on making me hungry :) Rosemary is one of the herbs that I grow since it's hard to kill :) I like your twist on the 'new' topic... I think that was a nice creative twist. I tried a creative twist this week and it's killing me :)) I'm giving this photo a 7 this week. I little more depth of field in the foreground would be a nice improvement :) Good work.... - jmsetzler |
