Easterby thomaspeopleComment: This one cracked me up - very funny with just a hint of benevolent malice! Maybe the lighting is a little harsh and just maybe the focus a little soft but this is one fun image. Personally, I like it and think it should have done better. |

Exclusive Spy Photo! Cheddar Cow Captured!by C_Steve_GComment: This is my kind of picture - off the wall and with humour too! While I can see that editing out the grey weeds would help - also seems to be some other curious artefacts in there as well - I think this great image suffers from the dpc "humour is not funny" syndrome. Personally, I love it! |

LiveStrongby MelethiaComment: I must admit that I didn't get the yellow rose of Texas bit when I saw this one but this is one of those images that seems to have everyone thinking - which is a very good thing in my mind. Maybe the lighting is a little harsh but a fine "image with a message" shot none the less. |

Freshly Paintedby Pug-HComment: Another shot that deserves to have done better! The only minor improvement I can think of would be to crop horizontally at the bottom, roughly to the top of the sand bar on the lower left of the picture to then put the dominant yellow rail guards along a thirds line. |

Jammy Timeby timfythetooComment: I guess this is one of those frequently occurring occasions where I do not understand the voting patterns here! This is a really good shot that deserves a higher mark. Maybe I would have pulled the image across to the centre a tad more but this is such a bright, happy picture that I am not sure it would do that much too it. |

Clicheby nards656Comment: Cliche maybe, but a fine shot none the less. I think the only problem I have with this is that the yellow is not dominant, and in this sense the image lacks a little impact. |

Still Life In Black and Yellowby olddjComment: Strong composition and well within the challenge definition. The colours are a bit flat - the yellow in the carnations seems too weak - and there is some noise in there as well. Personally I would have tightened the top vertical crop to give more of a 1/3 black, 2/3 yellow in the background but then again - caveat emptor!
I also think it would have been slightly stronger if the yellow saturations had been reversed - more intense on the carnations and less on the lower background.
Liked the image a lot. |

Yellow IIIby ChinabunComment: This is some shot, especially in terms of its difference! I like the overall composition and the way in which the lava lamps suggest an other worldly sensation. Personally - and what do I know? - I would have positioned the left hand lamp differently, probably higher with the righ hand lamp a little lower, just to drive the dynamics of the picture. A very clever image none the less. |

Complementary Flowerby jorrComment: I would have been proud of this shot myself. I love the composition and the flow of the image and think that the blue/yellow contrast works really well. The background is a bit noisy (maybe some NeatImage on that?) and, as others have said, I think that the low score is more a reflection of the numbers of flowers submitted rather than the image per se. |
