I was excited about this photo when I saw the thumbnail! You've done a great job of capturing a fun moment. I was a little disappointed when I saw the photo is a little out of focus. I'm still going to give it a decent score, though, because I really like the composition and the child's expression! Any chance of getting another shot like this? I have three little boys and they won't ever cooperate for a picture, so I know a reshoot would be tough.

Great lighting and detail. All techical aspects of the photo are perfect! I started off giving this a low score because I don't feel it meets the challenge of a portrait (by Webster's dictionary). But... it's well done so I'm giving it a 6 instead of a 4. Good luck!

In general, I didn't score animal shots so well because the dictionary calls a portrait an image of a person or human. This shot is exceptional, though, and I'm giving it a 9! Well done and good luck in the challenge!

I have three little boys and it is so hard to get them to cooperate for photos! I have even more appreciation for your entry this week for that reason! Great capture of emotion! It is a tiny bit blurry due to some motion, but you've adjusted it well to get a great shot! Cropping is perfect, too. Good luck in the challenge!

Very nice detail and clarity. The eyes lead me to the left where the frame ends. I would have liked to see more frame to the left of her 'gaze.' Nice shot... one of my favorites this week!

Great focus, DOF (clarity of face as compared to shoulder). I like the dramatic lighting. Your eyes lead me to the left, where the fram ends. I think this would work much better with more blackness to the left of the face (at least for my personal tastes). Nice shot and good luck in the challenge. Smellyfish1002
