Silver Lineby AlexSaberiComment: The bright sunlight reflecting off the wakes behind the ducks imparts a good sense of deliberate motion in an otherwise still setting. Although soft, misty, morning shots usually make me feel relaxed and calm, this one is different. I think it conveys the feeling of the beginning of a very hot summer day -- maybe because of the color tone and absence of clouds, maybe because the leaves, reeds, and fields look dry. Excellent capture. |

Day 47by CharleneComment: The image captures the moment. Speaking from experience, you will have many moments of mixed emotions as you child gradually becomes fully independent. The worries are real, but the joy is too.

dingy island.jpgby robstComment: The soothing color, vertically centered island and dingy, reflections echoing each other, and still water combine for a peaceful yet inviting image. Makes me want to go on vacation! |

Day 48by hajekaComment: Happy combination of round, diagonal, and horizontal elements. Very artistic, with a simplicity that grabs attention. I like it.
This one makes me want to eat chocolate. Maybe it would have done well in the fast food challenge. I see that you also posted some shrimp on the grill yesterday and a great image of garlic earlier this year. Keep this up and someone will feel forced to demand that the site operators create another kind of warning category (like the "adult content" one, but for images that may undermine a diet). Flock of Wing Nutsby banmornComment: Non-traditional and inventive. I like the pattern repeating off into the blurry distance and the interesting light on the threads. 8. |

angelby jmritzComment: The multiple arms echo the statues of multi-armed deities, the dull orange-brown glow combines with the soft treatment to generate a calm and meditative response. I think that is enhanced by having the face and expression of the subject clear enough to preceive easily. You are exploring a very interesting line of thought with your series in this side challenge, and the rest of us benefit. |

crowby yankoComment: Very interesting moving from a thumbnail in which only the blurry hint of an image in a black square to a larger version in which the beak and eyes are sharp and the rest of the bird is defined well enough to be separate from the background (which is blurry, in fact). Very original contribution to the challenge, and a great image too. |
