Patterns of lightby IreneMComment: Nice overall color. Almost missed the intricate subtle design of thin light lines snaking along energetically. Wouldn't it be fun to have drinking straws imprinted to match the design on these two tubes? |

Climb the Stairs!by LN13Comment: Somehow the brightness of lighting on the shack transform the quiet sunset landscape into a festive looking setting. Refreshing change from typical sun-goes-down-at-the-beach cliche. |

Oasisby cabaComment: Really interesting swirls of light on the hills (that do indeed look like sand dunes in the Sahara) make a striking composition. At quick glance from a distance the image could have a similar light pattern from a sky at sunset. Slight rotation clockwise a tic or two to make the lines of the grain elevator more upright would help. |

Wetby bjoernComment: Color, reflections, repeating arch design and diagonal street work very well together. |

Ghost of Halloween Pastby crikComment: The face shape and hand gesture suggest Japanese influence. Positioning less centrally might impart a better sense of that off-balance feeling when confronted with the unexpected. Overlap of submission dates makes me wonder if you intended to enter the Halloween challenge. |

Actionby StagoleeComment: Title says it all. Getting sharp detail and excellent framing is harder than casual observers can imagine. Having the person's face identifiable elevates this into a combination of action shot and environmental portrait. |

The Birdby james_soComment: Enjoying the paintbrush stroke effect of the blurred background. |

lakefrontby undieyatchComment: Good eye to capture the abstract potential in a potentially mundane scene. Upright black post crosses thin horizontal line (would echo a religious cross if the tiny horizontal black bit were cropped off the left, but leaving that anchors this as a partly environmental abstract showing harbor exit), white vertical elements contrast with light grey sky, texture of shade/screen material interacts with texture of water surface. Not eye candy, so at risk of ending with lower score than justified by artistic merit. |

SMILEby tvsometimeComment: Lots of life captured in this image. Black and white works very well to allow appreciation of the interesting patterns of light and less light everywhere in the floor. Bumping up a point on second look. |

Framedby RobskiComment: In theater, curtains at the sides and fabric across the top of the stage provide a setting for the action. Here, the green vegetation on the sides and top accomplish the same. On the bottom, the fine textured dirt and gravel mixed with clumps of grass seems unnecessary and distracting. Cropping it away could allow viewers easier appreciation of the detailed reflection of the building. |
