My brothers finally came for another visit. You might know them from the future challenge:

I managed to get another family portrait of us today :-)

Did you stack them? Funny. Talk about a split personality.
Can you give the technical details? Please!

yuh.. would like to know your work flow for this... I have done similar stuff with other family members (like.. to get us all in the same Christmas photo), but maybe you have tricks I don't know about.
Very funny too Gary!! LOL

I saw one on photosig a looong time ago that was like 12 photos combined. The camera was on a roof, and he would run up the ladder, set the timer, run down, get into position and shoot. He was wearing different things in some of the photos and at first, it was hard to tell that it was all the same guy. There were like 12 of him washing a car. I'll have to see if I can find it.

There is no work flow, just a pic of me and my bros :-)

Okay, okay I'll let out my secret.

4 photos, camera on the tripod and used the timer so I had time to pull my trousers down :-) I loaded them into Photoshop and used one as a base image and pulled one of the other pics into it. I used the pen tool to around myself in the top image and went Layer > Add Vector Mask > Current path. Checked to see if everything is okay then Layer > Rasterize > Vector Mask. Activate the layer mask and did a Filter > Other > Minimum @ 1 pixel radius. Then a Gaussian Blur @ 1 on the mask, a little adjustment on the levels (also on the mask) then merged it all together. I followed the same procedure with the other two pics. Not so difficult really...

Thanks for the info. You are so advanced in your photographic abilities I was hoping it was done by stacking, the digital equivilent to multiple exposure in film cameras. But this worked very well. It's a good photo to start everyone's day on a happy note.

So, which one reads National Geographic, you or your brother? I think it's good to find out that people in Germany also use candles in their bathrooms :))

You don't miss a thing do you Ursula! I didn't even know there was a candle there. Shows you how well I know my own house :-) Nasti must have put it there in the last cuppla days.

*laugh* Sensational photo there Kiwi, I love the touch with with "brother" with the toilet paper.

I'll have to have a play at using that technique. If I had done a pic like that I'd have simply been cutting/pasting each brother out of one image and onto the original, and there is no way I could have got it close to as natural as you have it here.

*laugh* I really do love everything about that show, composition especially :)

Hey Kiwi .....

Can you explain in layman's terms the reason for the different masks. What I mean is why the vector mask first and then the Rastorise.

I am sure it is the perfect way to go, I just don't understand the process. I admit, I am only just getting into masks, I have until recently just edited on the original or using layers.

Talk about getting the job done! Explaining more of you ps wizardry could help us all.

That is damn funny!!!

I can't tell which one is you and which one is your brother.

It's just the workflow I use standardly. After cutting with the pen tool and creating a mask layer, I can use different filters on the mask to get the edges soft and fitting to the image below. I move the cutout if I need to, and then when I am happy with it, I rasterize, merge and save.

Pretty funny Gary.
It takes a brave man to sit on the toilet in front of the world. That puts you with John Setzler, Howard Stern, and Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon movie...but he had a bomb strapped to his toilet).

Does anybody know of any other public toilet sitters>>

The guy who was gobbled by a T rex in Jurassic Park was eaten outhouse and all ...

Hey Kiwi .....

I am not so sure that is you in the photo anyway.

It looks to me like you got Bob Hoskins (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, for instance) to stand in for the photo for you.

Nobody's using it (phew), but here's a great idea from Amsterdam.

That's so funny and weirdly intelligent.

Bravo!

My only question to you, Kavamama, is how did you get the shot? You are female, after all.

Ah, yes, and I've never been to Amsterdam. I have visited a few men's rooms, though. Concerts, beer, no line. You do the math!

Kiwi (Gary)

I did some shots like this of myself and our family loved them.
My son wanted to do one when we were visiting, hence:

"Losing At Poker"

I realized, that you guys here have really big families. :-) Is this a photographer trend? :-)

Calvus: This one's humorous, too, I like the expressions on your and your brother's face. :-) Just tell me, which one is you? :-)))))

That's cool Calvus! Getting the hand on the right guy's back must have been difficult. Good work!
