I got $5 and two shirts.

I spent almost $400 on gifts. How did I get stuck with this lousy end of the stick?

I got a hacksaw from my brother and he got me a level. That's about it. We haven't opened our gifts yet (the rest of the family). My wife and I always open our gifts when we go back home. We're not spending too much this year because we bought a house, a lawn mower, a whipper snipper, a barbeque, a water softner, a dehumidifier, a bed for the spare bedroom, and I got myself a G2. How's that. Maybe I'll get lucky with the wife tonight :).

Just so long she doesn't take up banditry on that trusty steed of hers!
You might try making an oval vignette of that shot, her and the horse's head...

I got some stange looks and a big smile. I love Christmas with the kids. Wouldn't have it any other way. :-) The most precious gift, Kids!

I did well. My wife spent 550 bucks on photo stuff for me. Included was Extension Barrel for my Fuji 602 with a high end UV filter to protect the lens. Cokin Creative Filter System. (does not fit my Cam)

My big gift was an AlienBee 400 strobe with a stand and a 24"X 36"
Softbox. That should be here by Fri at the latest. :-)

So watch out I have started my quest for serious lighting. Now I will not have to use slow shutter speeds with crappy 100 WATT clamp lamp. I can use low number ISO and that should be good for sharper pictures.
Well have fun with your new toys. :-)

TurboTech.

I got a job! I work with lots and lots of animals, and have to clean out some fish tanks too. It's my first job in 3 years, but since my hubby is having major surgery on the 3rd, we need the extra cash. Anyway, I can't wear a watch to clean out the tanks, so My hubby got me a watch that clamps onto my belt loop.
I also got a Olympus e10 from a very good friend of mine. HE got a d1x, so he gave me his e10. I'm still trying to figure it out, but I'll get the hang of it.
I also got the excitement of watching my 2 year old son open lots of presents which are spread ALL over the place right now. He didn't know what to play with first, so he played with it all at the same time. He's currently taking advantage of his new shrek pillow and scooby blanket. :) All the excitement wore him out.
It was a wonderful xmas for us, it's good too, cause the new year is going to be simply aweful.
Wish us luck.
~Heather~
And if anyone wants to adopt a nice pet for the new year, give me a call! LOL

Let's see... I got another 128mb memory stick so now I finally have enough memory to always keep my camera in it's best jpeg mode. I got the usual clothes that don't fit, kitchen knives (I love playing with sharp things), an assortment of small things, a scenic calendar, picture frames, socks, and etc. I got a great coffee table book on famous athletes with fantastic portraits, just in time for this weeks B&W portrait challenge. And I also got some money so I might finally be able to get the wide angle extender for my camera that I have been anxious to get.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I got the biggest blessing of many years. I had my family at my house for Christmas eve. It's been years since we did that since they moved to Florida 7 years before us. My grandkids are the joy of my life, and being with them is the VERY BEST gift I've ever had. Today we spent at their house. They each picked out a special gift for me, and for my husband Drew.
My daughter gave me a new Bible since mine finally fell apart. She also gave me a set of Henkel Knives. Both gifts will get great use.

Did you get a job at a pet store Heather?

My wife bought me a CD burner so I don't have to be quite so arbitrary in keeping originals of shots not in my gallery (my computer is stuffed and even a few more 9 meg TIFF files were about to burst my seams!)

Earlier this month we also bought an HP 7350 photo printer with which I am currently in love!

Why yes, yes I did. I love it too. I like the animals a lot, and we have a lot of fish in my house, so I get to learn more about them too. So I got all that for xmas. Snakes, lizards, fish, bunnies, hampsters, guinnea pigs, frogs, turtles. I got LOTS of pets for xmas. lol. And what's even better, I only have to take care of them for 5 hours a day!

Among other things, I got a circular polarizer. Looking forward to using it.

Merry Christmas You all.

I got a 256 meg card, tripod. That was the camera stuff. One of the neat things I got was a Matrix T-Shirt for the next two movies that only the Visual Effects Team has. (My wife's boss is one of the Special Effects Managers on the next two movies) and yes they are going to be awesome. Right now they are $100 million over budget. I wish I could spend just a little of that on some nice lens'.

Great camera! ;) I've had mine since February. It's a camera that takes some practice to get the best images out of, but once you learn its quirks, it can hang with the best of em !

Let me know if you want any tips/suggestions :)
