This is the second time I have suggested THONGS re footwear on our feet as I think it would be an interesting subject to photograph. (FLIP-FLOPS FOOTWEAR ONLY)

Hmm not sure if Thongs mean the same here:
Viewed from the front, the thong typically resembles a bikini bottom, but at the back the material is reduced to a minimum. Thongs are almost always designed to cover the genitals, pubic hair, anus, and perineum, and leave part or most of the buttocks uncovered. |

i cannot understand people confusing the issue re this suggestion. I DO NOT MEAN THE BIKINI THONG... I MEANT FOOTWEAR AND FOOTWEAR ONLY...AS IN THONGS, SLIP ONS, ON ONES FEET AND NOT ON ANY OTHER PART OF THE BODY... WHY DO PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND SIMPLE ENGLISH ... I AM SORRY NOW I EVEN SUGGESTED THIS AS I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA...... |

well rather than being arsey about it and shouting, maybe appreciate that there are different national and regional interpretations of what a thong is and for us to share that and suggest alternative titles is not a bad thing.
thong/THôNG/
Noun:
A narrow strip of leather or other material, used esp. as a fastening or as the lash of a whip. |

I understood the challenge request perfectly. A piece of material that hides the crack between the Big toe (hallux) and the next one alongside it :)
Here in the South we are influenced by the British. Flip Flops are footwear. Thong is a thin piece of leather used in abundance to make a type of chair hehe. |

When I was a kid in New Zealand, we called them "Jandals", which is a brand name. I still call them Jandals.
I'm talking about the things that go on your feet. The ones I live in when I am on holiday. (Not a ski holiday) |

No picking on Sherpet! She's too much of a sweetie!
Shame, shame, shame!
Good to see you Shez!! I think it's a fun idea. When I was a kid, they were called thongs, but I haven't heard that for quite awhile.
Maybe Art's post could be used as the challenge description. :)

Flip Flops is the most common term. ...but that has been somewhat hijacked by politicians. |

im ok with the subject with two conditions.
1. we do it in the warmer months so i can participate.
2. we let it include what most of us consider a thong so i have incentive to vote :) |

The challenge is not "Thongs", it's "Footwear", with the following description: "Make something that you wear on your feet the focal point of your composition."
WAY more inclusive than just one category of footwear. |
