Shouldn't you give out as many high scores and low scores as there are high and low scoring photos? An even distribution is not required and is harmful to voting as a whole.

Yes, I should. But many didn't appeal to me initially. I went back and upgraded some scores based on the creativity and photographic skills rather than my personal taste in content. I'm new at voting and still trying to figure out the best way to go about it. I do believe that the photos should be judged relative to the other entries. If theoretically they were all 10's as independent photos, then no one would be above the other. Hope this makes sense... Just my way of thinking about it. :)

It makes sense, however I disagree. If you feel they are all 10s then you should give them all 10s. When I look at them I may see a few 9s and 8s in there. When the next voter sees them, they will see some 5s through 10s, etc...

You aren't ranking the photos, you're saying what you think of the photos. The ranking comes after everyone's votes are aggregated.

+1 from me too. I'm speaking from a high-level, purist point of view. I don't expect everyone to vote in a statistically accurate fashion.

My entry titled Falling apART started at a sub smelly 4.5 but is now at a mildly irritating 5.3

On a happier note. My NAPP portfolio is being recognized on the Image of the Weekpage.

I'm stoked!

I suspect, had a paid attention to the fact that this was an Expert Editing challenge, I might have done better.

Hmmmm.... anyone else an NAPP member? I can't see anything, because you have to log in. Has this been verified by the DPC verification league? ;P

Seriously -- that is incredibly awesome!! And to think we knew you when... :)

Ooh. I think that's mine!

For a scores thread, this is remarkably bereft of scores. TPL secretiveness perhaps?

No fear here, anything I've got in atm is doing crap anyway.

I've recovered from all the lowballers at the beginning, and crept up to a meh 5.50 score, but the fact that I have an award sitting by a comment saying 'top 3' makes it more worthwhile, I'll thank that person after the challenge, at least someone got it, lol!

Edited to add, the comment actually said 'my pick for 3rd', kind of funny actually but nice nevertheless!

I know what you mean. I am far frm a 5.5 at 5.2 and just hit that today. Only one comment, but it shows someone got it, too, and that is very nice. Plus I'm still really happy with my entry :)

Finally hit 5.5 today, only to fall back under. I was hoping there would be a few more late voters but it's very slow . . .
