I am guessing that Bitz has not submitted the original as requested or this would have been settled already, does that not say something in itself?

Probably not going to happen but I'd like to see two snapshots of the items - the vase and the shell - to see what they look like when you are not trying to make a challenge quality image. Just snaps so we could see what is being described. That might shed some light on the situation.

Yes, I can go with that!

I am concerned about issues such as this because I had someone take a copy of my artwork and try to pass it off as their own (selling it). It took over a year of legalities to get it straight. This is an issue that is very important to me, and I would sincerely hate to see it happen to anyone else, on any level.

YES!!!!

THAT is the million dollar suggestion.

that would solve everything.

While we're at it, how about if we HAVE a snapshot challenge.

"Take your best photo suitable for a family album or selling your subject on eBay. Attempting to sell your family on eBay IS permitted."

After seeing the whole picture of it I can understand how someone thought it was a shell on a pedestal instead of a vase. Could that thing hold flowers or water without toppling over?

Also I would like to mention that this vase was designed by artist Margaret Furlong, she is known for her creations in white on white unfinished bisque porclain, this vase is not available in pink, unless it was painted by the owner. Here is a website with a little more about it...Margaret Furlong Info

It also says that each piece is made by hand.

P.S. I changed the link, this one has more information about her work.

No that one looks similar, although it is hard to tell from that picture, but mine is taller than 3 1/2 inches tall.

Has anyone PMed Bitz about this? Also, not so sure she will be able to post a different angled shot, since the vase/shell was not hers (unless she took a differetn angle during her original shooting)

Ok, to prove that my shell is original, I took a snapshot of it.
Here it is, straight out of my camera.

This is proof that I didn't copy anyone.

There are several different things avilable from that site that contain that "shell" pattern. You can get a candle holder, cake topper, large vase, place card holder, etc. Some of them could be described as pink. They range from $12-$48. No offense intended, but I somehow doubt that these are one of a kind. It seems more and more likely that these are photos of the same type of object, from two separate people.

How could they be described as pink when it states that her signature style is white on white? All her items are done that way, and if it was made from the same mold as people have suggested which means it would have been made by the same designer it would not be made in pink, and I did not mean that it was a one of a kind, just that it mentions they are hand made which would mean that there would be differences among them and not all exactly the same.

This appears to be similar to yours.

I would call that pink.

That is the same as mine and trust me if you saw it in person there would be no question as to whether it is white or pink...it is white.

This thing is blowing completely into proportion. Looks to me like Bitz has been having some beers at a quiet bar in Roswell with Elvis, The Grays and JFK's assassins to decide on which unsuspecting DPC member's image to hijack.

Come on, let's get some international police on the job... ; )

I believe this has reached the limit of constructiveness.

Site Council are looking into this unfortunate incident. Further communication will occur privately between the SC and those involved.

Remember that the law in the U.S. is to assume innocence until guilt is proven. Harassing people that are involved in this situation is not constructive. Please do not do this.

We are on it.
