I tried a couple of things here...one is a a fan to blow her hair (that didn't work, so this one is actually a hair dryer!).

Then this is another edit with an added texture; crushed paper, pretty light application. Some vignette blur as well to soften the hair (which was still pretty sharp)

I really love this, I'm not a fan of how soft/fake the editing has made her face, but I love the BW conversion and everything else about it.

Really pretty! Gorgeous model and I like the light on the top of her hair.

charming (the whites of the eyes stand out a bit much though).

Oh, she looks much more natural now. I like it! The only qualm I have is how overexposed her nose is. The light on her hair is lovely, and the texture is very nice.

I really like the use of the blow dryer with her hair. It along with the distant look in her eyes seems very thoughtful, as though she is day dreaming of places far away. I don't really see any effect of the filter you mentioned. Nice job.

Your portrait work is top notch. The battle is won with rapport and your eye, not gear. You have the feel. An images' emotion can't be corrected with PS :)
