 I made this image while aboard an Osprey MV-22 tiltrotor aircraft with the SOCOM Parcommando group in Zephyrhills, FL.

Some of the difficulties of this image were getting a good dynamic range between the aircraft's bay and the ground below. I achieved this by making an image that had both interior and exterior underexposed, and then brought the earth back into the correct exposure via Lightroom.

Update: I'm very pleased to see this image has done so well. It's my third personal best in a row and that means a great deal to me, particularly since it's beaten my old best so thoroughly. I felt really confident about this shot, primarily because of the interesting action pose I captured. There are some certainly some things I would change, and now that I can see them perhaps my next images will get closer to the 7 mark.

saw this in critique at 1x, i prefer the plane detail left in rather than the suggested crop which did not work for me, id have tried to remove the halo'ing from around the jumpers, most noticable on left jumpers right shoulder and shoot area.
